Our author Claudia Simone Hoff paid a visit to Carl Hansen & Søn: In the factory on the Danish island of Funen she found out what is behind a classic furniture item such as the “Wishbone Chair” by Hans J. Wegner, sanded down a chair leg herself, and visited Knud Erik Hansen’s manor house.

Carl Hansen & Son is one of the classics among Danish furniture manufacturers, with a rich portfolio of iconic designs. We spoke to CEO Knud Erik Hansen about the company's DNA and its future.

"Plico" is the name of the folding lounge chair with striking details and elegant frame from the Swinging Sixties, which Carl Hansen & Søn is now reviving.
