This year, the Frag catalogue has been enhanced through collaborations with new designers, including Kensaku Oshiro, a talented young Japanese designer who has made Italy his home. His Vega line of high-backed chairs will be presented at the fair.
's unique feature is the design of the chair's back – in addition to offering ergonomic support, the back continues down to the floor, giving the chairs a futuristic, sculptural look.
The chrome-plated tubular steel frame lends a sense of lightness to
the design and emphasizes the unique profile and stark, clean style. Vega can be upholstered in either leather or hide.
The Japanese designer pairs Vega with the round or oval model of the Argor table. As the base of the Argor table is covered entirel
y in leather, the angularity of its prismatic shape does
not diminish the suggestion of softness offered by the material. The base brings to mind a piece of paper being shaped to create an origami figure, with edges that seem to gather and fold to form
a three-dimensional contour. Combined with the shining glass top, it resembles a precious jewel.
As the leather is available in a range of colours in the Frag catalogue, the look can be changed to adapt to a variety of settings and tastes.
