Fürstenberg, spring 2026: For almost two centuries, the “Grecque” tableware collection has been one of the iconic forms of the Porzellanmanufaktur FÜRSTENBERG. Created in the Biedermeier period between 1840 and 1850, the form combines the elegance of the Empire style with classical lines and a sense of playful romance. Today, FÜRSTENBERG continues this tradition—while rethinking it at the same time: with two contemporary reinterpretations that demonstrate how modern historic design can appear when empathy, craftsmanship, and the present moment come together.
“Grecque Vert Menthe” – a subtle color statement With the new décor “Grecque Vert Menthe,” FÜRSTENBERG translates the popular handpainted décor “Athena” into a modern, graphic color palette poised between landscape and perspective. The soft green hue connects regional heritage with a forward-looking attitude. Light, delicate, and fresh, the shade feels optimistic and spring-like. It builds bridges: between tradition and modernity, between the classic golden and floral décors “Athena” and “Mille Fleurs,” and a contemporary desire for lightness and clarity. “Grecque Vert Menthe” appears on selected statement pieces—each one becoming an accent that harmoniously complements existing collections in a stylish mix-and-match approach.
“Grecque Satin Finish” – a classic with a new surface With “Grecque Satin Finish,” FÜRSTENBERG reveals the iconic form from its sensual side. The manufactory’s signature velvety matte surface lends the porcelain a new depth— tangible to the touch and visible in the interplay of light and shadow. Satin-finished exteriors and rims emphasize the faceted structure, while the glazed interior surfaces intentionally shine. This refined dialogue between matte and gloss celebrates small moments of joy, the ease of togetherness, and the magic of special occasions. The collection is complemented by a contemporary handled mug (0.35 l), seamlessly bringing “Grecque” into everyday life.
