The “Garden Egg Chair” turns 50
by Anna Moldenhauer | 12/3/2017
The Adam Brussels Design Museum in Brussels hosts the world’s first solo show on the work of Peter Ghyczy.
A series of collectable antiquated pieces by GHYCZY. Adored and collected by museums and vintage dealers around the world, these sought after pieces are now available to the public. This archive of historical designs is now marked with the signature of Peter Ghyczy. Each piece is completely unique, and will only increase in value over time.
Halogen lamp design, this piece was first inspired by the new halogen bulb of its time, both revolutionary in its ability to emit light and dim to the users desire. With an attached blind function, light is guided and directed for dual functions. Directed upwards, it floods a room with light like a ceiling fixture. Directed downwards, it can be used as a reading lamp.
