6:AM: BATCH
Glass becomes a spacious interplay of light, color, and repetition.
With “Batch,” 6:AM continues its exploration of glass as a sculptural material. The collection takes as its starting point a 43 × 43 × 43 cm hand-blown glass element. A cast-iron mold machined using CNC technology is used to shape it. In this process, the mold is not built up but rather gradually carved out of the material.
In glassmaking, the term “Batch” refers to the mixture of raw materials that is loaded into the furnace before melting. For the presentation, the individual module is repeated 126 times and assembled into a vertical glass surface. A simple steel structure supports the elements, transforming the repetition of the individual object into a structure that fills the space.
The slightly undulating surface of the glass reflects the manufacturing process and alters the incidence of light through reflections and optical distortions. Colored elements break up the transparent grid and create deliberate accents.
Batch is available in ten color variations—from Cristallo and Bianco to Rubino and Verde Antico, and on to Nero, Acciaio, and Rosso. The collection is available online.
