Gravelli: Cove outdoor kitchen by Bodo Sperlein
Kitchen as Sculpture
With the “Cove” collection, Gravelli demonstrates how an outdoor kitchen can be transformed into a sculptural architectural object. Designed by Bodo Sperlein, the collection combines soft, flowing forms with the materiality of a specially developed architectural concrete. The result is a monolithic presence that feels surprisingly light despite its substantial appearance.
A warm-toned terrazzo countertop complements the pale concrete body, creating a balanced material composition. Sperlein views the outdoor kitchen not as an extension of the indoor kitchen, but as an independent element of the outdoor environment. Free from permanently integrated appliances, “Cove” allows for a high degree of customization and confidently positions itself between design object, furniture piece, and architecture.
With “Cove,” Gravelli highlights the creative potential of concrete as a contemporary material, demonstrating how function, materiality, and sculptural form can merge into a new typology for outdoor living.
