LOEHR: Himmel über Berlin by Marek Polewski

For Loehr, Marek Polewski has designed a limited edition of twelve chairs that depict the starry sky over Berlin throughout the months of the year. In collaboration with astrophysicist Noam Libeskind, precise star charts were created and translated into delicate perforations on the seat surfaces. The traditional ornamental pattern found on seating furniture is thus transformed into an astronomical representation.

The color scheme also references the Berlin sky. For this edition, a unique shade of blue was developed based on a photograph by Marek Polewski; the Berlin-based company KOLORS mixed the color in its own color laboratory. The deep-matte finish reduces reflections and allows the color to appear virtually unaltered.

The twelve chairs are designed as a limited edition. Each piece is signed and numbered according to the respective month.
