Bette has had a decisive influence on bathroom design in recent years. In particular, this includes the company's floor-level shower trays: their delicate design, combined with a wide range of available colours, blends naturally into a wide variety of bathroom scenarios. At the same time, their threshold-free comfort allows for a high degree of freedom of movement and a spacious feel. The underlying technology ensures problem-free installation. At this year's ISH, the world's leading trade fair for water, heating and air in Frankfurt am Main, Bette presented a new shower tray – the ultra-flat ‘BetteUltra Space’ has a depth of only 15 millimetres and an installation height of 90 millimetres. This means it requires less space for installation and can be adapted to almost any building situation. With its minimalist, timeless look, it is suitable for a wide variety of uses and design concepts, whether in private bathrooms, hotels or commercial buildings.
‘BetteUltra Space’ is based on a sophisticated design with a wall-mounted drain on the narrow side. This creates an elegant, continuous standing area that provides greater freedom of movement and comfort. As a result, the new shower tray offers barrier-free access from three sides. The flat construction height allows for floor-level or raised installation. In addition, there is an intelligent water drainage system that is able to safely direct the shower water to the drain, even with a very flat design. Thanks to the flexible installation options of ‘BetteUltra Space’, the shower tray can be adapted to a wide variety of structural conditions. It offers a great deal of flexibility, especially in renovations where the structural conditions are often unclear.
Bette has also developed a practical all-in-one solution for installing ‘BetteUltra Space’. This includes a minimal bath support, the new pre-assembled sealing system ‘BetteSeal+’ and the new waste fitting ‘BetteCompact+’. The latter is available in chrome or coloured enamel. With a height of only 55 millimetres, it ensures a standard-compliant water seal height and, at 0.5 l/s, a generous drainage capacity. In addition, the waste fitting is particularly easy to clean thanks to its convenient access. The ‘BetteSeal+’ sealing system is a factory-pre-assembled, 10-centimetre-wide fleece without adhesive or welded seams, ensuring a secure, watertight bathroom installation.
In addition to the usual standard dimensions, ‘BetteUltra Space’ is available in 20 other sizes ranging from 800 × 800 millimetres to 1700 × 800 millimetres. This allows for a high degree of design freedom, which is further enhanced by the comprehensive range of colours. A particular highlight is the glossy ‘Salvia’ shade, Bette's new key colour. The soft green tone brings calm and naturalness to the bathroom and can be combined particularly well with wood, stone and light colours. Another plus point is that ‘BetteUltra Space’ is made of glazed titanium steel. The material typically used for Bette products is steel enamel. It is made from steel and glass and is 100% recyclable. Titanium steel has a seamless and easy-care surface. This makes the shower tray not only more hygienic, but also easier to clean. Although the ‘BetteGlasur®’ used consists of a wafer-thin layer, it is still harder than marble, plastic or steel. It is also scratch-resistant, non-porous and permanently UV-resistant. This means that ‘BetteUltra Space’ retains its flawless appearance over a long period of time. Accordingly, Bette offers a 30-year guarantee on its products.
The new ‘BetteUltra Space’ also impressed the jury of this year's ‘Designplus Award by ISH’, which was presented by ISH in cooperation with Stylepark. The award honours the most outstanding developments and forward-looking ideas from 160 submissions – from smart technology for efficient building control to resource-saving water use. The jury praised the technical innovation of the new shower tray, which can be easily installed despite difficult floor conditions. The generous, barrier-free and non-slip standing area in combination with the high quality was also impressive. Last but not least, the elegant design, combined with the wide range of colours, offers a high degree of design freedom, allowing for the creation of diverse and durable bathroom environments.
