A visit to the ClassiCon showroom during Milan Design Week from 17 to 23 April 2023 is worthwhile for several reasons: As part of the show "Eileen Gray – Non Conformist Artist", ClassiCon is uniquely and exclusively showing gouaches, collages and weaving patterns by Eileen Gray from a private collection. The works served ClassiCon as inspiration for hand-knotted carpets made of fine wool, such as the "Bonaparte Rug", which can be experienced in the showroom in a new dimension as well as material quality. ClassiCon thus grants guests exclusive insights into a part of Eileen Gray's artistic oeuvre that has received little attention to date. Wall texts by author Charlotte Kerner, who has written a biography of Eileen Gray's life, round off the presentation. On the two levels of the showroom, the textile works are in dialogue with a selection of her famous furniture and lighting designs, such as the "Adjustable Table E 1027" made of tubular steel from 1927 or the "Non Conformist Armchair" from 1926. ClassiCon produces and distributes the Eileen Gray collection as the only licensee worldwide.

At the same time, the "Plissée" lamp by Sebastian Herkner can be discovered as a pendant lamp at ClassiCon: The hand-blown opal glass shade has a matt white satin finish on both sides and looks as if it has been folded out of precious paper. Thanks to its elaborate production and special materiality, "Plissée" thus brings a particularly soft lighting effect into the room. (am)
