What new offers will the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality sector provide in 2024?

At Heimtextil 2024, we are focusing on both the new and the tried-and-tested. In addition to numerous suppliers from the previous event, visitors can look forward to many new exhibitors, including Infloor-Girloon (Germany), Klassik Lamitex (India), Manifattura Tessile Calusiese (Italy), MP (Italy) and Textaafoam with the sustainable Fabraa brand (Netherlands). All exhibitors with an offer for architects, interior designers or hotel outfitters for the contract business are listed in the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Finder and can already be viewed now. Exhibitors will once again be focussing on the diverse range of functional textiles, which are increasingly being used in the furnishing of properties.

The centrepiece of Interior.Architecture.Hospitality is the curated and elaborately staged library. In Hall 4.0, textiles with functional properties selected by a jury will be presented. In 2024, the focus will be on the newly selected flame-retardant, sound-absorbing, light-resistant, antimicrobial, dirt-repellent and abrasion-resistant properties. In guided library tours, the jury will explain the special features of the selected products and why they have chosen them. The range of guided trade fair tours and the stage programme will also be even more international in January 2024. With Tours and Talks & Tours, it is the first point of contact for orientation and information. Renowned experts guide you to selected exhibitors, talk about possible applications and show you their personal highlights. All tours and the lecture programme can be found in the event calendar.

What is the current trend in contract textiles?

We are observing in the industry that textiles used in properties are increasingly required to have a certain functionality. The demands placed on textiles used in hotels, public buildings, hospitals and care facilities, restaurants and offices are increasing. Not only must guidelines such as fire protection and hygiene be complied with - textiles are also increasingly being given the task of improving well-being with their properties. The question of "hygiene or hygge" no longer arises. Functional fibres, textiles and coatings are becoming particularly important in the area of beds close to the skin. Thanks to their hygienic functions, they inhibit the spread of bacteria, fungi and viruses and have an anti-allergenic effect. They can be washed at 95 degrees or steam sterilised and offer pleasant comfort thanks to their breathable and temperature-regulating properties. We are giving these functional contract textiles a unique platform at Heimtextil with the Interior.Architecture.Hospitality Library. The library is available online all year round.

At the same time, sustainability is gaining in importance. The range of sustainable contract textiles is growing. Those who opt for the "green" alternatives hardly have to make any compromises in terms of functional properties. The reason for this is a constant stream of new materials, fibres and manufacturing processes, some of which have a positive impact on costs. This is why the reorientation of all sustainable formats of Messe Frankfurt's textile trade fairs, the Texpertise Network, will be launched at Heimtextil 2024 under the title Econogy. Econogy standardises the assessment criteria for sustainability and clarifies the holistic connection between economy and ecology. The Econogy offer at Heimtextil includes the Econogy Finder, which helps visitors to find certified suppliers, the Econogy Hub platform for seal providers and certifiers and the one-hour Econogy Tours.
