A new generation
The FreeMotion® mechanism from office furniture expert Kinnarps prevents users from remaining in a static position for long periods of time, eliminating the need to fix flexible parts in place. The body is gently activated while sitting, promoting a healthy posture: "With FreeMotion®, we have developed a unique chair mechanism that keeps your body moving, improves blood circulation and reduces static strain on the spine. This is the future of seating ergonomics,‘ says Martin Henschel, Category Product Manager Ergonomic Seating. Interaction with the office chair becomes a sequence of flowing movements that feel natural and promote well-being and performance.
Thanks to the extensive design options, the ’Capella X" product family from Kinnarps offers a chair for every occasion and every person. There are three backrest designs to choose from: from the soft decorative stitching in a patchwork pattern for ‘Nature’ to the dynamic embellishment of the backrest for “Energy” and the horizontal stitching for ‘Classic’. A total of six model variants and a wide range of colours and materials offer the perfect match for the desired interior or corporate design. Special versions of the office chair series are also available, such as ‘ESD’, which has been specially developed for environments that require antistatic furniture, “XL”, a particularly durable version approved for weights of up to 150 kilograms, and ‘24/7’, designed for continuous use, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Like all products from Kinnarps and its six brands, "Capella X" is manufactured in Sweden. Sustainable materials and high-quality workmanship are just as important to the family-owned company as contributing to better health with its furniture. "Implementing movement into everyday working life does not mean exercising on a treadmill in the office or sitting on beanbags all day. Long-term sustainability requires a layout and interior design solutions that inspire effective natural movement without distracting you from your work,‘ says Jenny Hörberg, Director Global Range and Design at Kinnarps. The benefits of a movement-friendly working environment were recognised early on, she explains: ’Back in the 1950s, we developed a simple office chair that adapts to the body. We always work in parallel with researchers, ergonomists and our experienced development team to create the best possible working environments." (am)
