"Tonbo" by Kensaku Oshiro for Kristalia

Kristalia 2022: TONBO

Kensaku Oshiro has designed the "Tonbo" chair for the Italian furniture manufacturer Kristalia, whose backrest refers to a shy creature of nature.

"Tonbo" is the name of the new chair by Kensaku Oshiro for Kristalia. The delicate body of the dragonfly was his inspiration for the shape: gently rounded, the backrest slopes downwards from a wing-like start and offers the seated person exceptionally elegant support. Made of the light wood of ash, Oshiro draws organic lines for "Tonbo" and turns them into hand charms. For comfort, he added wide armrests and an upholstered seat that can be covered with fabric or leather. "Tonbo", Japanese for "dragonfly", thus displays a light, graceful structure that, in contrast to its filigree namesake, is so robust that it can become a lifelong companion. (am)
