Multitasking ceramic fittings
Located centrally between Vienna’s Naschmarkt and the Secession Building, the four-star “Das Beethoven” has been transformed into a charming boutique hotel by the interior designers at Quas. In the family-run establishment the emphasis is on individuality: Floral details and sumptuous crystal chandeliers were combined with strong colors. Moreover, each of the six floors was given a Vienna-related theme and decorated accordingly – say, with stage photos from the nearby “Theater an der Wien” or prints of works by Secession artists. And the rooms themselves are also named after renowned Viennese figures such as Gustav Klimt or Ludwig van Beethoven, after whom the hotel is named.
Sanitary ware by Laufen was selected for the bathrooms of the 47 rooms and suites. The rectangular washstands from the series “Living Square” and “Kartell by Laufen” as well as the wall-mounted and shower fittings from the “Kartell by Laufen” series provide a touch of elegance in the bathrooms with their clear lines. A veritable multitasker is the compact shower toilet “Cleanet Riva” in a sleek design, which can be adjusted to suit individual requirements: There are seven settings for regulating temperature, intensity and position of the jets. In addition, the toilet has an automatic odor remover with activated carbon filter, a thermal cleaning system – especially important for a hotel – and an integrated descaling program. The compact ceramic unit consisting of seat and cover can be easily and completely removed to facilitate cleaning, as the electricity cables are concealed in the closed ceramic body. All the functions can be selected using either a rotary knob at the side of the seat or a remote control. (am)
