Architectural luminaire manufacturers Modular Lighting Instruments dedicate their work to developing the right lighting for all kinds of spaces. The multifunctional lounge on the ground floor of their headquarters in Roeselare near Bruges in Belgium was decked out in tranquil earth tones in line with a concept developed by the creative minds at local agency Maister. Dark wood surfaces alternate with built-in green marble elements and seating upholstered in light leather. Wooden room dividers and floor-length drapes are used to create spaces in which employees can enjoy their privacy. The large format pieces of the series “Sensitive Light” by photographer Frieke Janssens are also staged in an ideal way. "The materialisation had to breathe out tranquility and cosiness in high end sense", says Björn De Vos from Maister.

The company’s own products “Médard,” “MP78,” “Semih,” “SLD50,” “Trapz,” “Smart kup tubed,” and “Wink” were chosen for the lounge. Each of the elegant luminaires creates a sophisticated accent with either direct or indirect light and thereby provides an essential contribution to the pleasant atmosphere in the space. While the LED ceiling spotlights with the flexible profiles “Médard,” “MP78,” and “Semih” provide orientation, the wall spotlight “Trapz” creates a subtle shadow effect with the aid of a shallow cylinder that emphasises the lounge character. Meanwhile, built-in spots such as “Smart kub tubed” and “Wink” elegantly take a back seat, allowing the interior design of the spacious room to take center stage. (am)
