Loud and calm
The world of Paola Lenti and her sister Anna is creative and daring, guided by sustainability since 1994. What began with the development of durable, waterproof and robust yarns has grown over time into an extensive range. In addition to colourful outdoor furniture that can withstand extreme environmental conditions, indoor models have been part of the company's DNA from the very beginning: "The decision to launch an indoor collection was a natural development, especially considering that the company originally manufactured rugs and some small indoor seating furniture. So it was a return to our roots, incorporating the experience we had gained from working in the outdoor sector. The research we have always conducted into materials, their properties and possibilities now enables us to draw on exclusive fabrics and structures that offer the best performance for indoor use too," said Paola Lenti in an interview with Stylepark.
Created in collaboration both with renowned designers and emerging young people, the result are seating furniture, side tables, cabinets and paravents made either from natural materials such as wood, flax and bamboo, or from synthetic products using recyclable and recycled materials. These include the ‘Arnò’ modular sofa by Bertrand Lejoly with removable structural covers made of mottled polyester knit, inspired by the aesthetics of a woven straw basket; the ‘Berni’ lounge chair by Franco Poli, which is exciting from every perspective with its dynamic oak structure, or the sculptural ‘Nuvola’ tall cabinet with four hinged doors by AMDL CIRCLE made of ash heartwood.
"Sustainability is not a choice today, but a moral obligation. With this in mind, we strive to optimise our work through subtraction, achieving maximum synergy effects in order to identify and avoid any kind of superstructure. And thus also the risk of waste," says Paola Lenti. Thanks to the wide range of designs, the upholstery covers can be selected according to individual requirements. The family-owned company also manages to combine the designs of its creative minds harmoniously, while still ensuring that each one is unique. "We observe nature and create colour harmonies that can enter into dialogue with it."
While the colour scheme of the outdoor furniture and accessories seem to be composed like a cheerful, fast-paced piece of music, the interior décor plays on quieter, softer tones, stylishly rounded off with vibrant accents. An example of the ideal match is the ‘Naga’ bench by Atelier Oï: "Our project for Paola Lenti embodies a spirit of transformation and innovation by using the company's exclusive colours and fabrics while redefining how these elements interact within an essential structure to fulfil a precise function. This dynamic interplay of materials offers a visual and sensory experience in which the arrangement and tension of the bands create a fascinating dialogue between colours and textures," say the designers. Clear and playful, subtle and striking: Paola Lenti manages to combine the best of both worlds. (am)
