STYLEPARK WAGNER
One system for all
‘d2’ was created by Gonzalez Haase AAS and Diez Office, who presented the prototype in 2020. The new Munich office of art director Mirko Borsche, located near the main railway station, served as a laboratory for the first use of the room system. Since then, the team has continued to develop the forward-looking system. This opens up endless possibilities for planning: with ‘d2’, large rooms can be zoned from a single source and creatively utilised with a variety of interlocking functions such as shelving, room dividers, standing tables, workbenches, seating niches, benches, cladding, displays and much more. But even cramped and complex room situations can be clarified in terms of design and optimally utilised in terms of function thanks to the homogeneity and adaptability of the ‘d2’ system. Even existing furniture can be reused and integrated into the design thanks to its precise integration.
The diverse possibilities of the ‘d2’ can be experienced at the Designpost in Cologne, at the in-house #wagnerdesignlab in Langenneufnach, and in the interior design of the Augsburg housing association: Wagner Living, as the complete furnisher, has created a working environment that meets the highest standards. The honeycomb panels made of lightweight aluminium are painted in matt black on individual request, giving them a particularly stylish look. In addition, Wagner Living is opening a showroom in Munich in November 2025, where the creation of the unique Moving Spaces will be demonstrated through numerous examples. For planners and architects, Wagner Living also offers a workbox with material samples from the ‘d2’. This allows the system to be examined and tested in detail – including the pleasant feel of the surfaces. These can be customised thanks to the large number of colour options available.
With ‘d2’, it is possible to develop high-quality room concepts of all kinds with minimal effort, whether for offices, restaurants, hospitality or living spaces. Flat to transport, sustainably designed and maximally flexible, it optimally meets the requirements of modern interior design. There are no limits to your creativity, and you can make full use of the planning options. The minimalist structure is made from 100 percent recyclable cardboard or aluminium, depending on your preference, with profiles offering a delicate appearance thickness of 15 to 20 millimetres, depending on the material. Thanks to patented connectors, the system can be assembled without tools, and no glue or screws are required. Not only can the components be easily detached from each other and reused, but they can also be returned to the cycle at the end of the product's life, sorted by type. At the same time, the amount of material used is kept to a minimum.
"It's about creating interior furnishings for people that are like a tailor-made suit, offering the optimal solution. This cannot be achieved with standard solutions, which make all rooms look the same. Architects want their solutions to perfectly reflect their ideas and be adaptable if necessary. “d2” can be assembled and disassembled without tools and can be modified again and again in collaboration with our planners. This idea suits us as a chair manufacturer, because we want the best for people. The furniture is the perfect complement and, thanks to the focus on the essentials, comparatively inexpensive. Added to this is the joy of designing your own furniture, because that also adds value. With the combination of system and individuality, we bring these previously unrelated concepts together and create a new synergy," says Peter Wagner, who runs the family business together with his brother Prof. Dr. Rainer Maria Wagner.
