Cloud

The Danish designer Simon Legald has created Cloud, a firm, curved cushion with a friendly and welcoming expression. The hollows in the cushion form a gently arched pattern that is reminiscent of classic furniture design. Its solid foam core allows the cushion to keep its shape and provides optimum support when Cloud is used.

Cloud's idiom is a balance between rigorous and soft. Just like a naive drawing of a cloud, the cushion is rounded and plump with a bulging dome-shaped top. It is balanced by the precisely cut foam core and upholstered fabric that is carefully stitched deep into the cushion. This gives Cloud a simultaneous compact and airy feel.

Simon Legald says: "I wanted to create a cushion that was comfortable and could spring back into shape. So you don’t need to fluff up the cushion after use. To achieve this, foam was the perfect material. The foam also allowed us to use classic upholstery techniques to give the cushion exactly the look I wanted. That would not, for example, have been possible with a down filling. In that way, the cushion's material, function and design all form a whole."

Cloud is available in an oblong and a square version, each offered in four different colors. The range of both warm and cool shades makes Cloud suitable for most rooms in the home. For example, use a yellow cushion as an eye catcher on the sofa, or choose a discreet grey as a quiet addition to your bedroom décor.
