Wool is the most important textile fibre derived from animals. It has been used by human beings since time immemorial, first as felt, and later in the form of spun yarns. It is elastic and impervious to dirt, and compensates for climatic factors better than any other fibre.The wool comes for the most part from New Zealand, and is spun in Europe.
