Lightness and stability – the DS-278 is a synthesis of this apparent contradiction. With its straight-edged functionality, Christian Werner’s armchair claims pride of place in demanding living environments and complex contract settings alike. As a modern low-backed armchair, it provides optimum seating comfort combined with the ultimate in urbane design. Like the high-backed DS-277, the DS-278 intriguingly redefines the transition from seat shell to back shell. The interface between the two sections thus constitutes the distinguishing characteristic of this chair family. Various qualities and colours of leather are used in the inner and outer shells, together with accents created by finely worked decorative stitching. Perched on its modern star-shaped base and subtly elevated for a light appearance, this chair is powerful to its core. Just perfect for sitting in peace and thinking great thoughts.
