The company is founded and led by Dean Skira, lighting designer with over twenty years of experience in designing innovative lighting solutions for institutional, public, hospitality, corporate and residential spaces. In 1986 he left for the USA to study lighting design and interior design at the FIT Fashion Institute of Technologies in New York. In 1990 he established his own lighting design company and became a member of IES The Illuminating engineering society of North America, New York section. Skira specialised city and commercial lighting within the Philips Corp., New Jersey. In 1995 he continued his work in Croatia together with his professional team of designers and engineers through his lighting design companies Lumenart Ltd. and Skira Ltd. acomplishing until today many rewarded and recognized results. Dean Skira is also member of the Croatian Designers Society (HDD) and vice-president of the Croatian Lighting Association. Skira’s role in the international field of illumination is indisputably essential, and it has been confirmed by international awards and publications (International prize Dedalo Minosse for Commissioning a Building 2007-2008, publication in the Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture, nomination for the EU prize Mies Van der Rohe 2009, IES Award of Merit 2009, ARC Show Innovation award 2012, LDA award 2012, IALD Special Citation award 2012, iF product design Award 2013, etc.)
