Biography
Sarah Böttger trained in carpentry before studying Industrial Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. Today she runs her own studio, focusing on product and furniture design. As of 2015 her Brother Henrik Böttger became creative partner. Her clients include companies such as Case Furniture, Ekobo, Menu, Normann Copenhagen, Nodus, Ligne Roset and others. Sarah Böttger regularly holds workshops, including at the School of Industrial Design in Lund or atHochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in Basel. Influenced by her apprenticeship in a trade, she has developed a pronounced feel for working with materials. She values both traditional and cutting-edge processing methods and both analog and digital tools. During the design process she attaches particular importance to details, while her products being first and foremost clear, precise and unobtrusive.
