Buds, one of Rodolfo Dordoni’s best-selling pieces for Foscarini, gets a make-over, by interpreting the contemporary taste for sophisticated richness and attention to materials. To mark the occasion of the 2016 Milan Design Week, three new and precious versions of the Buds table lamp will be presented, together with a revamped version of the suspension lamp.
Glass undoubtedly plays the leading role in this collection. Five different layers (crystal + colour + white + straw-yellow + crystal) are overlapped as the glass is mouth-blown, making this piece extremely precious and giving the lamp a unique effect, with its colour changing depending on whether it’s switched off or on, producing a warm and soft light.
In the table lamp version, the blown glass diffuser is supported by a precious, full-bodied yet transparent, plastic material which has been carefully studied to achieve an effect of purity and enhance the preciousness of the glass.
The table lamp and the suspension lamp are both available in three different shapes. Each shape is matched with a different coloured glass: a brown shade for Buds 1, grey for Buds 2 and bamboo green for Buds 3. The white version is available for all models.
