Product description

A lamp, which boasts a decidedly sculptural presence and stands out in space with a strong totem-like appeal. Tuareg, the new project by Ferruccio Laviani for Foscarini, consists of simple and essential tubular elements, which are directed distinctly to create a structure with a personality resembling that of an artistic installation. The reference to the world of contemporary art stands out among Laviani's sources of inspiration, ranging from the suggestion of works of land art to architecture, and it is combined with the deeply industrial soul of the lamp.

The carrying frame is defined by three principal tubular elements that branch off. They each house an LED light source that are independently adjustable 320 degrees, creating an extremely scenic effect. Going beyond traditional geometric shapes, Tuareg stages an unexpected "orderly chaos" due to the extreme stability and harmonious balance of its shape.

A distinguishing trait of all Laviani's work, colour plays a fundamental role in this project. Like ton-sur-ton brush-strokes, color defines the silhouette of the lamp and reveals its intimate nature. Two different colours are available: orange, which recalls anti-rust paints used to coat piping for an industrial effect, and matt black, which represents the synthesis of opposites for its value as a contextual declaration and negation of the shape.

The possibility of switching the three light sources on and off separately emphasises the versatility of Tuareg, multiplying its possible uses. It can be used as a reading lamp, a wall lamp or a floor lamp that lights by reflection. Its ideal placement is in large spaces - such as entrances, halls, executive offices, and showrooms. It can also be used in compositions to create an atmospheric scenery.
