The trade-fair cycle starts to turn again. From January 18-24 the imm cologne opens its doors. We took a quick peek behind them and spotted the one or other novelty.

Yes, folks, it really does exist: the universal chair of 2015. It was designed by various hands, comes in numerous versions and yet still follows a typology going back to a famous forebear. Ultimately, it is the subtle differences that count.

In the hunt for the feel-good factor that straddles the tried-and-true and the surprisingly new, designers and manufacturers are busy presenting their novelties at the imm cologne and the Passagen. The clear message: Things are getting more softer and sensual.

The Featured Editions at imm cologne, curated by Stylepark together with the trade fair’s team led by Creative Director Dick Spierenburg, offers a marvelous wealth of original ideas.

For over ten years now, Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher have been creating classic industrial design, whereby since 2005 the focus has been on furniture. What makes the designs by the Munich duo who go by the name of Neuland stand out: the profound and logical approach, yet with an easy feel to it, characterized by a strong sense of rhythm and clear structures.
