Studio Niruk’s latest design combines elegance with a sense of play.

The design process for the Calligra mirror began with a simple experiment: using a strip of paper to explore how a flat band could frame an oval mirror in a way that feels both dynamic and refined. By gently bending the strip outward at opposite ends, an even tension was created, allowing the material to take on new shape.

Bending, tilting, pulling – the principle was tested and refined again and again until the rigid form evolved into a flowing line. It became a frame, yes, but also an independent design element. A two-dimensional surface was transformed into a three-dimensional form that opens up new perspectives.

This transformation of the frame from a flat, static element into something dynamic and seemingly in motion reflects Studio Niruk’s creative vision, deep material knowledge, and passion for experimentation. Calligra plays with line and surface, with perspective and spatial perception.
