With "Aava 02", Arper presents a classic collection that has been optimised in terms of both material and the wide range of finishes.

In 2013, Antti Kotilainen designed "Aava" for Arper, a seat shell shape for chairs and stools that can be adapted to every need thanks to different frames and covers – whether on four legs, runners or castors. Ever sustainable in form, "Aava 02" is now also sustainable in material: for the plastic versions, a compound of post-consumer plastic will be recycled in combination with high-quality polypropylene. On average, 5.6 kilograms of waste are reused for the production of 10 chairs. The new edition of the collection is also FSC-certified. No glue is applied in the complete upholstery versions, so that the individual components can be easily separated and returned to the cycle. The new colour palette of "Aava 02" can also be harmoniously combined with the other collections from Arper. "The aim of my work as a designer is always to create durable and flexible products. 'Aava 02' is designed for both homes and public spaces. Its shape adapts to both modern and traditional environments, and its variations meet many different user groups and their needs," says Kotilainen. (am)
