Climate change and population growth pose major challenges for society and require a rethink in all areas of life. This also has an impact on the industry, which is why AXOR has developed the "Compact Luxury" project with an associated Whitepaper that deals with the future of urban living. The basis for this is the UN's prediction that more than two-thirds of the world's population will live in cities by 2050. At the same time, digitalization has fundamentally changed the way we communicate over the past two decades. To this end, the Hansgrohe Group design brand is now also launching the digital platform "AXOR Futures", which presents future topics in the field of design and architecture.

"AXOR Futures" will kick off on November 9, 2021 with the theme "Precious Space". In it, AXOR asks what expectations exist for the future of urban living and how spatial luxury can be defined under these conditions. "Our perception of luxury has changed. We as AXOR think real luxury is no longer about size; it is about the individual experience of space. We call it 'Compact Luxury' and believe it’s the future of urban living. That’s why we invited some of today‘s finest thinkers and designers to share their thoughts with us," says Anke Sohn, Head of Global Brand Marketing AXOR, about the approach of the event.

"AXOR Futures" will kick off with Chris Sanderson, co-founder of the London-based future institute "The Future Laboratory", who developed the "Compact Luxury" project together with AXOR and will talk about the three trends "Liberated Living", "Immaterial Affluence" and "Conscious Wellbeing", among others, in a presentation. He will be joined by British designer Jay Osgerby of Barber Osgerby, whose "AXOR One" collection redefines the theme of luxury in the bathroom through innovative interaction options. Swiss entrepreneur Cédric Waldburger, a well-known representative of minimalism who leads a consistently reduced and cosmopolitan life, will also be a guest. He owns only a few things and will provide insights into his minimalist lifestyle at "AXOR Futures." The event will be moderated by Anke Sohn, who will talk to the three guests about the findings from the "Compact Luxury" project, the changing definition of luxury and the associated requirements using the "AXOR One" collection as an example.

The digital event will take place on November 9, 2021 at 10am and 4pm in English.
