Work flexibly with a system

Sweep and go – the advertising slogan that characterised many childhoods is often enough what one wishes for after many a meeting: the conference is over, the colleagues are back at their desks, the ideas are sparkling – only the whiteboard still needs to be wiped, tables and chairs need to be tidied up and trays put away. Valuable time is lost in tidying up. And above all: what to do with all the important keywords on the whiteboards? Do they have to be laboriously photographed and digitised? This observation was also made by the award-winning Berlin design duo Oliver Deichmann and Blasius Osko – and they have developed a solution. "We have investigated how innovative start-ups work and what everyday agile office life looks like in modern, international companies. The brainstorming in the creative workshop shared a common intersection – and everywhere there was the same problem: after the meeting, the whiteboards had to be cleaned. So we asked ourselves how ideas could be secured in this desired flexible scenery. That's how we came up with ultra-light whiteboards to take away and exchange." The result was the multifunctional "boards" series for and with Brunner, a toolbox for agile project space design. This is not the first collaboration, as the Berlin designers have already created the seating landscape "plot", the foldable and rollable standing table "pivot" and the ergonomic office chair "dress" for Brunner.

The fundamental question for the latest "boards" creation is: "Why don't we just take the important ideas with us?" The central element and namesake of the series therefore offered the whiteboard: Brunner "boards" are light and flexible. They are accompanied by pieces of furniture and accessories that offer storage space, seating and workstations. You can work as you like at the work and standing tables with NanoTec, oak veneer or HPL tops. Thanks to lockable castors, they glide smoothly and can be fixed or moved as desired. The shelf and stackable stools are just as mobile. There is also a storage trolley that can hold a full 16 whiteboards. All pieces of furniture can be converted into an easel for the whiteboards that can be written on both sides.

Depending on the model, the whiteboards can be placed on the furniture, plugged in, leaned against or hung in integrated rails - horizontal or vertical, front or back, everything is possible and lets you use the whiteboards intuitively. In this way, an open space can always be adapted to the needs of the workflows. One group or several? Lecture situation, brainstorming, workshop? The possibilities are wide-ranging. With "boards" it is possible to arrange the work surfaces according to individual wishes - just as is ideal for agile working. This is also facilitated by a wide range of accessories such as toolboxes, hook-in trays, various hooks and whiteboard connectors. And at the same time, osko+deichmann, who have been designing together since 1998, succeed in making their multifunctional objects from classic materials such as tubular steel and wood astonishingly aesthetic. The clear, uniform design language of "boards" with a slender, matt-powder-coated structure also lends them a modern lightness visually. Last but not least, the furniture is also deliberately sustainable: the materials used can be separated by type for recycling, the furniture can be disassembled and recycled as required. the furniture can be disassembled and repaired if necessary. In addition, the lightweight material allows the objects to be packed effortlessly for transport and improves the CO2 balance.
