Status quo and an outlook on current developments in design: Design Post offers an extensive programme with interviews, workshops and talks from 30 September to 2 October 2021. The programme ranges from the question of how we can work together in a hybrid way in the future, to sustainable materials research such as by materials.cologne, to the presentation of new products. Furniture ecologies will also be discussed in the round table, moderated by designer Emma Lucek. Under the theme "Transition", the format offers the prelude to the new series "Furniture Ecologies". The speakers include Charlotte van der Lancken (CVDLAB), Ruud Belmans (WeWantMore Studio) and Anna Berglind (H&M).
Visitors can also look forward to the newly designed area of the Design Post, which is divided into several multifunctional areas: "Patio Space", "Work Space" and "Studio Space" offer flexible spaces for product presentation, collaboration and meetings on 3,500 square metres. The "Patio Space" was designed by Studio Besau-Marguerre as a hybrid meeting place with café, MBSY designed the "Work Space" as a flexible co-working area. Meanwhile, 36 brands present themselves in the showroom area, including Arco, Marset, rohi, Création Baumann and Arper. Floor van Ast, who took over the management of the Design Post a few months ago, adds an essential element to the function of the Design Post as a showroom: "The showroom will remain the centrepiece, but I would like to strengthen the function of the communication platform. In addition to the well-known events, we are planning more content-oriented programmes, such as a series of salon talks on the circular economy, sustainability. Big topics, but I think currently very relevant for our entire industry, to address the issues of society, but also to recognise the opportunities that are waiting there," says Floor von Ast in an interview with Stylepark in April this year.
With the Design Post Days, she is now offering the industry a grand start to finally come together again in the special atmosphere of the listed Dreigelenkbogenhalle and to exchange new perspectives and strategies within the framework of the event and lecture programme. (am)
