Featured Preview – Milan Design Week 2022
HOUSE OF BMW

In view of the challenges of our time, how can we design technologies according to human needs? The curated programme at the House of BMW during Milan Design Week offers answers to these questions.
5/23/2022

From 7 to 12 June 2022, the house will be transformed into an artistic experimental space that reflects the major social themes of the time: Interconnectedness, digitalisation and circularity. Contributions will be created that address the opportunities and challenges of technological developments by interpreting strategies of digitalisation and circularity.

The six-day programme for the premium car manufacturer is curated by designer, curator and artist Mike Meiré. Under the theme "Tales from a Neo Collective Future", the artists he has selected, Botter, Claudia Rafael and Anna Deller-Yee, reflect the zeitgeist. The creative approaches combine currents from fashion with painting and technology and offer blueprints of what could be. Together with Mike Meiré and his artist collective, BMW Group Design presents an open space of possibility for visions that enter into dialogue with visitors in the form of installations, performances, workshops and discussion formats.

"As a collective of artists and designers, we want to use the possibilities of today and the demands of tomorrow to create a place that inspires, touches and inspires us to dream," says Meiré. The "House of BMW" also demonstrates the great innovative power of the manufacturer, which most recently presented a fully electric four-seater in the "BMW i Vision Circular" study, the development of which focused on the circular economy from the very beginning.
