After the spectacular outdoor installation "Floating Reflection" at Porta Nuova last year, Ingo Maurer will be wafting with "Flowair" through the experimental cultural centre Base Milano during Milan Design Week 2024.

Air and light – two elements that constantly characterise earthly existence – will form a new connection this design spring in Milan: Ingo Maurer will arrange amorphous textures and organic elements as inflated, flowing forms to create a moving outdoor installation in the midst of the city's vibrant atmosphere in the creative Zona Tortona neighbourhood. At the Base cultural centre, the "Flowair" installation winds its way through the inner courtyard and along the fire escape up to the roof. During the day, the objects filled with wind create a fascinating interplay; at night, they light up in a spectacle of light and colour. A combination of wind machines and natural air currents set the up to ten-metre-high shapes in motion while different colours create a "scent of light". In this way, Ingo Maurer's Munich-based experts make it possible to visually experience the movement of air in this lively place. (eb)

The installation is open to the public without registration and can be reached via the courtyard of Base Milano.
