"For our new store concept, we were looking for a partner who could help us develop a new approach. Away from the product focus, towards a lighting experience, with a special focus on the added value of smart lighting for the end customer," says Katleen Troosters, head of marketing and e-commerce, about the Light Gallery concept in Drogenbos, Belgium. The lighting specialist found what it was looking for in Guillaume Van Moerkercke and his interior design firm Wave of Engagement. As a result, the team transformed the showroom into a lighting world that not only provides seamless transitions between digital and physical areas, but also offers a finely tuned spatial staging.

The goal was to create personal spaces that exemplify how certain lighting scenarios can contribute functionally and aesthetically to a successful atmosphere – whether for the office or for one's own home. For this purpose, not only the luminaires of the Light Gallery were used, but also products from Unilin Panels: In line with the showroom concept, light and dark areas could thus be formed as a room within a room – from pedestals to niches to pavilions. Guillaume Van Moerkercke opted for HPL panels from Unilin Panels with the surfaces "Unilin Evola Lime Moon grey" and "Lime Chalk white", with which the spatial segments and various exhibition furniture are clad. The panels not only impress with their design diversity, but also with their robustness with correspondingly high scratch, wear and impact resistance.

The interplay of light and dark areas creates an exciting contrast that helps to effectively showcase the individual luminaires and lighting concepts. The dark ceiling and the anthracite-colored concrete floor form a discreet canvas in the background. In addition, there are interactive displays that are elegantly integrated into the spatial furniture. Additional information can be called up via these, enriching the physical experience of the light productions with a digital component. Katleen Troosters is particularly pleased about this successful linkage: "We wanted to work with an office that could not only design the store beautifully, but also help us sharpen our strategic omnichannel goals and understand the associated technological challenges. At first, it seemed that this knowledge was not available anywhere in the market. Until we were introduced to Wave of Engagement."
