Martinelli Luce 2022: COBRA 100

Martinelli Luce celebrates the 100th birthday of company founder Elio Martinelli with a "Cobra" lamp in yellow, limited, signed and numbered to 100 pieces.

In the early 1950s, Elio Martinelli, set designer, artist and designer, founded the company Martinelli Luce, whose luminaires had a decisive impact on the Italian design of the 1960s and 1970s. 2022 is now the 100th anniversary of his birth. To mark the occasion, his daughter Emiliana Martinelli, who now runs the lighting company, has released a numbered "Cobra" lamp in yellow, limited to 100 pieces and bearing Elio Martinelli's signature on the base. "It was my mother’s birthday when my father Elio arrived home driving a yellow Beetle. It was his present for Anna, who loved this colour. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, I wanted to remember him with a special edition of one of the lamps he designed, the “Cobra” - probably the most significant because it encloses his entire design philosophy: purity of shape, geometry, innovation, experimentation with materials and construction technologies," says Emiliana Martinelli about the special edition that commemorates the visionary founder of Martinelli Luce.
