Graphic furniture art from New York

The Vonnegut/Kraft design studio is based in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park industrial estate. Katrina Vonnegut and Brian Kraft, the duo that founded the label in 2011, believe the sustainable use of local and regional resources in their production is one of the core aspects of their work. Thus all the objects in their product range only get made in small editions. The daybed, dresser, stool and side table are made primarily of wood and highlight the merits of traditional craftsmanship.

Graphic details, such as for example the crescent moon-shaped head rest of the “Crescent Lounge” chair and the very rounded profiles of the wood furniture are typical of the striking character of their creations. Thanks to each having a different focus, the two complement each other perfectly in their work: While Katrina Vonnegut studied furniture design, Brian Kraft is an autodidact and approaches furniture-making from the angle of the best structures and composition.
