A legend reinvents itself
Against the backdrop of Miami Beach, architect Richard Meier and interior designer Joseph Dirand have brought the legendary Surf Club into a new era.
Elio, designed by Canadian design firm Yabu Pushelberg, is inspired by the motion of light as it reflects and refracts on landscapes and objects throughout the day.
The handwoven seat of the Elio armchair draws upward and inward to create a warm, intimate cocoon effect. The chair, perfect for relaxed dining, is framed by natural teak, which supports the seating shell primarily through the back legs. Multiple soft shades are woven into each strand of Tricord rope, which mimics the touch of natural light and makes each armchair unique.
