The furniture whisperer
In the exhibition “Typecasting. An Assembly of Iconic, Forgotten and New Vitra Characters,” Robert Stadler lends furniture a voice. Let’s take a listen!
Panchina is a small upholstered bench that can serve either as a practical, multi-purpose seating option or as a matching ottoman for Grand Repos and Repos. Small, simple furniture pieces with manifold applications are becoming indispensable items for users who value spontaneous functionality. Panchina is an example of this new typology: with its rectangular top, the four-legged upholstered bench can face a sofa for extra seating, serve as a footrest in combination with a lounge chair, or even provide a handy storage surface in an entrance area.
