STYLEPARK SELECTED IMM COLOGNE 2018 AT MAKK
New paths

It’s not about everything – it’s about the best: The motto of Stylepark has been translated into an exhibition for the imm cologne 2018.

For the duration of the international furniture fair, the 20 most interesting innovations of the imm cologne 2018 as selected by Stylepark are being honored with an exhibition in the centrally located Museum für Angewandte Kunst Köln (MAKK), Cologne’s applied arts museum. In future “Stylepark Selected” is set to become a permanent address for design aficionados during the furniture fair.

The extraordinary presentation by design studio Relvão Kellermann shows the 2018 winners as 3D holograms. To this end, darkened areas were specially created in the large hall of the 1950s museum building using floor-length curtains. The winning products are very wide ranging – from the mirror “Piega” (Classicon) to the sofa “PaiPai” (Ligne Roset) to the bar trolley “Grace” (Schönbuch). The designs include works both by such familiar names as Stefan Diez, Alfredo Häberli and Sebastian Herkner, and by celebrated newcomer Victoria Wilmotte.

In addition, special guests invited by Stylepark, namely Griffwerk, Jung, Laufen, Richard Lampert, Tsatsas and Vitra are presenting complex design installations in the exhibition itself. In the courtyard of the museum, MDT-tex showed an example of its textile outdoor architecture and Loewe underlined the cozy atmosphere of the lounge with its elegant entertainment electronics. All exhibits were perfectly staged with the products of the lighting manufacturer Erco. Visitors can subsequently reflect on their impressions in the lounge and gastronomy area designed by the imm cologne’s Creative Director, Dick Spierenburg. “Stylepark Selected” is on show parallel to the imm cologne until Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Museum für Angewandte Kunst Köln.

Despite its imposing size the large exhibition hall of the MAKK appeared homely and inviting.
Nya Nordiska supported the exhibition with floor-length curtains made of fine fabric.
