Biography
Ben Wirth was born in 1965 in Munich. After a carpentry apprenticeship and two years of study at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste (Academy of Fine Arts) in Munich, he studied architecture at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. In Berlin he worked together with Gruppe N.O.W. to design a number of restaurants. After earning his architecture degree, he returned to Munich where he worked as an independent designer of furniture and luminaires. In 2005 he founded benwirth licht, since which time he has been designing luminaires and light sculptures exclusively.
