33 revolutions per minute – that is not only the speed at which LPs need to spin on the turntables, but also a name. That of the stylish 33rpm bar in downtown Munich, where Villeroy & Boch sets the tone in the washrooms.
Gesa Hansen graduated from the Bauhaus University. & from NZU, Nagoya University of Arts, (Japan). She enhanced her training in Paris working for Jean Nouvel Atelier and H5 but also in Japan at the Nippon Design Center.
Following a long family tradition of Danish designers, she founded her design studio The Hansen Family in 2009, A collection of handmade furniture by small-scale fabricators and traditional artisans .
Together with Pascaline Feutry & Ai Bihr they opened the interior design studiohfb studio in 2011 in Paris & New York.
Gesa Hansen’s work is awarded by two Red Dot Design Awards and the Good Design Award. She was chosen Newcomer 2014 by Werner Aisslinger and listed in Wallpaper Magazine’s List Power 200 in 2015. Clients: Sid Lee, Domperignon, Le Mont St Michel, Villeroy & Boch, Stählemühle, Armani..
