The subtle difference

Light + Building recently closed its doors to the public in Frankfurt/Main. Which topics are people still talking about? Here is Stylepark’s retrospective overview of the fair.
Cheshire is a family of table, floor and suspension lamps designed by the Danish/Italian duo GamFratesi . These two designers were inspired by Cheshire Cat for this lamp, the cat described by Carroll in Alice in Wonderland. The cat who follows Alice on her journey is often shown sitting down, waiting for something: this image led to the diffuser, with its curved shape and richly embossed finish.
Cheshire definitely expresses the Nordic imprint of this studio, embracing simplicity and practicality, but it also has a strong ironic feel thanks precisely to the image of this cat. The diffuser is in polycarbonate. For the table and floor versions, it is opaque and diffuses light downwards, while the suspended version has a clear diffuser for an all-round diffusion of light. The lamp comes in three different colours: black, white and green. Elegant and contemporary, it is suited to both home and contract settings.
