Orgatec and idd cologne

From 27 to 30 October 2026, Orgatec at the Cologne Exhibition Centre and the presentations at idd cologne will focus on people, their interactions in the workplace and commercial spaces, as well as how they cope with dynamic change. Ahead of the event, we are offering you a curated selection of exhibiting companies that are rethinking the worlds of work and contract design, along with an overview of their programme.

Enjoy discovering the working environments of tomorrow!

THONET

Hall 06.1 | C061

How much comfort can an office chair offer? With the new 521 swivel chair, which Thonet is presenting for the first time at Orgatec 2026, the boundaries between working, meeting and relaxing begin to blur. Designed by Marco Dessí, the chair builds on the successful 520 series, transferring its distinctive design language to a fully upholstered, swivelling armchair.

Soft contours, an opening in the backrest and a wooden “saddle” beneath the upholstered shell define the design. Depending on the configuration, the 521 is suitable for modern work environments as well as conference rooms, hospitality settings and the home office. Two base options, along with a wide range of choices for height adjustment, mechanisms, wood, fabric and leather finishes, allow the chair to be flexibly adapted to different uses and interior concepts.

BRUNNER

Hall 08.1 | C020 E021

What if the office were no longer just a place to work, but a place of hospitality? A place that welcomes people, creates opportunities for connection and captivates through its atmosphere.

Under the motto “welcome. beyond work.”, Brunner brings the principles of modern hospitality into the world of work at Orgatec 2026. Lounge areas, conference spaces, cafeterias and dining areas become carefully curated settings that seamlessly bring together interaction, creativity and well-being.

With eleven new products and designs by jehs+laub, Doshi Levien, Jonathan Olivares and Sebastian Herkner, a new vision of the workplace emerges – one that does more than simply function. It creates atmosphere, fosters connection and transforms the workplace into a place where people genuinely want to stay.

The future of work begins where people feel welcome.

COR

Hall 10.2 | P010 N011
Design: Werner Aisslinger, 2026

Werner Aisslinger and COR have developed a chair that brings a homely feel to professional settings whilst also working well in private homes. Whether at the dining table, in a meeting room or in the hotel and catering industry, ‘Floy’ combines the comfort of an upholstered armchair with the clean lines of a chair.

EVOline®

Hall 07.1 | A046

The office is no longer just a place where work gets done – it is where people meet, exchange ideas and strike up conversations. This year’s Orgatec takes up that shift under the theme “From rooms to relationships”, and EVOline fits right in. The specialist in electrification for offices and commercial spaces has never been interested in putting products on a pedestal. What matters is the people who use them.

Rather than reinventing its stand, EVOline stays true to a familiar formula: modular cubes in confident Pantone shades, arranged as small islands for conversation. Here, power and data solutions are not displayed behind glass but discussed across the table, picked up, tried out. The stand itself becomes an argument for modularity – the very principle that runs through the entire collection.

At its core lies a simple idea: good cabling is planned, not improvised. EVOline develops its concepts individually, and a series of real-life scenarios shows how discreetly power can find its way into a space – at the desk, in the meeting room and far beyond.

DEDON

Design Post Köln | idd cologne

How much new design can emerge from a time – honoured craft? At Orgatec 2026, Dedon presents a preview of its 2027 collections at Design Post Köln – revealing a new generation of designs where craftsmanship, material and contemporary form come together in a distinctly sensual way.

At the heart of the presentation is Tricot, the modular lounge system by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. Its surface evokes the softness of knitted textiles, created through a specially developed weaving technique and a new Dedon fibre. Generous proportions and freely combinable modules allow for individual lounge landscapes – open, inviting and tactile in their character.

Familiar Dedon designs also appear in new guises. Sebastian Herkner’s Mdear and Mbrace arrive in the warm new shade “Macadamia”, while Mdear Urban introduces a new materiality with “High Performance Concrete”. With Ribbons, Dedon also enters new territory: the rug collection by the Dedon Design Studio translates the brand’s distinctive aesthetic into a textile dimension.

Stephen Burks completes the presentation with Kida Porch and new colourways of his The Others lighting collection.

At Orgatec, Dedon demonstrates how craftsmanship can become the starting point for something entirely contemporary – sensual, adaptable and unmistakably modern.

KOLEKSIYON

Hall 08.1 | D051 C050

Beyond the Desk: Koleksiyon Reimagines Work

What makes the office relevant in an increasingly digital world? For Koleksiyon, the answer lies in human connection, atmosphere and the experience of sharing a space. At Orgatec 2026, the design company presents Composing Habitus – a concept that reimagines the workplace as a living environment where focus, retreat and interaction coexist naturally.

Conceived by Chief Design Officer Koray Malhan, the concept brings architecture, furniture and human behaviour together in a new vision of workplace culture. Around twenty bespoke furniture pieces and spatial systems, created in collaboration with international designers including Jean Nouvel, Studio Kairos, Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Koz & Susani Design and Andreas Krob, will make their debut in Cologne.

An invitation to see the office not simply as a place of productivity, but as a space for connection and shared experience.

PEDRALI

Hall 06.1 | C021

For its ninth participation in Orgatec, Pedrali turns its attention to a working world in transformation. With new collections and extensions to existing product families, the Italian manufacturer explores how contemporary workplaces can respond flexibly to different ways of working, individual needs and changing daily rhythms.

At the centre is a vision of the workplace that goes far beyond the traditional desk: open, connected and welcoming. Spaces for focused work meet areas for exchange, collaboration and informal encounters. Furniture becomes a flexible tool for shaping environments that can be continuously adapted to changing requirements.

Ergonomics, comfort and well-being are just as important as flexibility and reconfigurability. Pedrali sees the workplace as a living environment that supports people throughout their day, encourages interaction and creates an atmosphere in which they feel comfortable and connected.

The result is a vision of the office that responds not only to the needs of today, but anticipates the working environments of tomorrow.

WAGNER LIVING

Hall 08.1 | C039

The way we work is shaped, in part, by the spaces we inhabit. At Orgatec 2026, the company explores how intelligent systems, ergonomic design and considered craftsmanship can open up new perspectives on the workplace. At the heart of the presentation is the d2 bespoke interior system – a tool-free modular system that brings architecture and furniture together in one flexible concept. It is complemented by ergonomic seating solutions including Titan Green, Titan Green Black Edition and Alu Medic.

The idea that workplaces can be more than purely functional environments comes to life at the Akarui Festival at Design Post Köln. Under the motto “Bavaria meets Japan”, two cultures of hospitality meet through Japanese beer traditions, Bavarian specialities and design that brings people together.

At the centre are the W-bench and W-benchtable by designer Christian Neumeier. Inspired by the traditional Bavarian beer-garden bench and table, they reinterpret a familiar classic in a contemporary design language. A special new version of the W-bench pairs whitewashed wood with legs charred black using a traditional Japanese technique. Alongside it, visitors can enjoy AKARUI, a beer brewed by Augsburg’s historic Thorbräu brewery using authentic Japanese hops.

A meeting of design, craftsmanship and culture that brings the idea of a welcoming workplace to life in a refreshingly convivial way.

Akarui Festival | Design Post Köln
27 – 30 October 2026, daily from 10 am
Craft beer, Japanese beer specialities, Weißwurst, pretzels and opportunities to connect in person.
