DEDON: TRICOT modular lounge system by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby
Woven Designs for New Outdoor Experiences
With TRICOT, DEDON is expanding its outdoor portfolio with a modular lounge system designed by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby. At its heart is a three-dimensional woven structure whose look and feel are reminiscent of knitted fabric. It is manufactured in DEDON’s workshops in the Philippines and lends the furniture a distinctive materiality.
Five modules allow for various configurations—from linear sofas and corner solutions to lounge islands and daybeds. A low seat height, along with generous back and armrest cushions, enhances the system’s relaxed character.
DEDON Fiber Touch is used for the surface. This round fiber combines a soft feel and flexibility with the durability required for outdoor use. The color options, Oat Knit and Haze Knit, draw on natural hues and respond to changing light conditions throughout the day.
TRICOT combines industrial material development with artisanal craftsmanship: Each element is hand-woven, and a single lounge chair requires more than 50 hours of weaving.
