Elegant and effective
‘Welcome’ – the company Sarstedt AG & Co. KG has established this message throughout its site in Nümbrecht, North Rhine-Westphalia. The design by architects K2 for the new administration building already bore the title ‘Welcome’ and the building complex and the grounds have been redesigned to be correspondingly open. The building structures extending from the round central building open out into the landscape like two wings: a central square is reached along generous flowerbeds. Edging and contours emphasise the dynamic pathways, which are clearly visible even in the dark thanks to the LED light lines from ADO Lights. A total of 475 metres in a straight version and 125 metres in a curved version were installed with a stainless steel in-ground housing. In addition, 38 electronic safety transformers including overvoltage protection were installed for the LED drivers.
The pleasantly homogeneous and glare-free light provides orientation, guides visitors safely to the entrance of the building and also sets the scene for the architecture: The LED light lines follow the borders of the flower beds and gently trace the structure of the square. At the same time, they lend the square a special elegance, especially late at night. Discreet but effective, the lighting also contributes to an increased sense of security – as at the pond, whose seating steps are perfectly emphasised by the lighting.
The customised lighting of the Sarstedt Campus and the warm white colour temperature of 3000 Kelvin of the ‘LED light line AL’ from ADO Lights contribute to the relaxed atmosphere on the site. The project also impressively demonstrates how easily and aesthetically the dimmable LED light lines can be integrated into floor surfaces. As a result, the lighting concept is a successful eye-catcher that enlivens the site. It also invites the company's team to make use of the numerous outdoor facilities that brandenfels landscape + environment have devised – be it a hike trail, lounges for mobile working or a game of boules.
