The Donkey in the System

The chair is an absolutely pivotal element, and not only for the company Plank, but also for the story of design. As Konstantin Grcic said in the recent interview with Marco Romanelli: „If we were to tell the story of design by choosing just one product type, we could do it with chairs. To my mind the chair is absolutely the most “expressive” furniture type. This is due to its capacity to embody a whole culture, showing how people live, or used to live; their customs and habits, dreams and, naturally, also the degree of technological development of a society.“ And it is precisely the story of this fragment of ourselves, clearly combined with the latest production technologies, that intrigues Plank in every new chair. The REMO chair, firstly presented at the 2015 Salone del Mobile in its different wood versions, is transformed now in Milan 2016 into the REMO Plastic Chair. Made in polypropylene, the REMO Plastic Chair is configured not only as a version of the REMO Wood Chair, but as an entirely new product that will further enrich the existing range with its colors and versatile use, particularly outdoors. The REMO Plastic Chair is available in a range of 12 colors and two different structures – chrome for indoor use and zinc coated for outdoor use.
Polypropylene seat shell in the colors black, white, basalt grey, signal grey, green blue, yellow grey, avion blue, fern green, oxide red, pastel green, coral red, sulfur yellow. Metal structure in chrome or zinc coated for outdoor use. Stackable.
