The easy chair SZ 01 was designed by Martin Visser in 1960.
The SZ 01 was originally woven from pulp cane, but in the middle of the nineties this was replaced by synthetic cane. This was because the pulp cane that could still be obtained in
the Netherlands was not of the required quality. Synthetic cane is both flexible and strong. It retains its colour and is easy to clean. The armchairs are available in black, off white and natural (caramel-coloured) synthetic cane (SZ 01).
e frames are made of matt chrome-plated metal.
In the late nineties the frame size was changed, by adding 3 cm. to the seat hight. Because nowadays people are much taller than in the early sixties, the old seat hight of 37 cm wasn't very comfortable
anymore. Now the seat is 40 cm. high.
