Carpeting made of self-adhesive tiles. Ready-to-lay packets on offer consisting of a fixed number of tiles stand under this motto. They have been designated OCTAGON. The self-adhesive floor tiles contained in the packets can be joined to form any conceivable shape according to the mix & match principle – even on a temporary basis. Images arise on the floor that stage the room differently yet always chic, time and again.

But in the third part of our tour of the “BAU” trade fair in Munich, Amandus Sattler discovers that there are in fact some well-executed specimens out there, such as those developed in collaboration with Foster+Partners. Data protection patterns, and columns of numbers and letters without their content spelling a meaning, form the basis of "Rapport", an intervention by architect Jürgen Mayer H. at Berlinische Galerie. Outsized the symbols spread across the floor and walls to form an "experimental spatial structure".
