OFFECCT was founded in 1990 by CEO Kurt Tingdal and Design Manager Anders Englund, and is situated in Tibro, Sweden. The company name is an imaginative concoction of the Swedish word offentlig (meaning public) and the English word affect. The play on word
s grasps the very core of the company; to affect public space and generate creative meeting places.
Today the OFFECCT Group has sales of ca SEK 100 million, around 55 % of which are exports. OFFECCT's head office and showroom is in Tibro, Sweden.<
OFFECCT is also represented in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, the UK, Ireland, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Spain, Italy, Portugal, the Czech Republic, the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, Ho
ng Kong, Singapore, South Africa and Russia.
OFFECCT believes in combining genuine Swedish craftsmanship with qualitative, innovative and sustainable design. We execute our beliefs in close collaboration with some of the world's most renowned desig
ners, who all share our company's passion for creative meeting places. Together we strive to create elegant and intelligent products, incorporating Scandinavian design tradition and ecological values in the process.
Several public spaces all over t
he world have been furnished with objects from OFFECCT. A few examples are Restaurant Kungsholmen, Stockholm (Sweden), Pravda Restaurant, Helsinki (Finland), Dansk Radio, Copenhagen, (Denmark), MoMA; The Museum of Modern Art, New York (USA), Sfera buildin
g Restaurant, Kyoto (Japan).
The three dimensions Social, financial and ecological development is taken into consideration when OFFECCT works with sustainable development. We are seeking to develop products with a
long life cycle that use recyclable materials so as to minimise their environmental impact. Through constant improvements our company shall prevent and minimise any adverse impact on the environment caused by manufacturing processes, products, transporta
tion and other activities. This means imposing requirements on ourselves and our subcontractors. We are constantly seeking to minimise use of resources and actively work in improving our energy efficiency in order to reduce our emission of green house gas
es. An overall perspective is the aim of our environmental work. In all our planning, manufacturing, consumption and disposal we are considering both mankind and the environment. Our environmental policy shows the situation of today as well as our future
direction. We are actively working with our environmental targets, measuring these and are working out activities in order to reach the targets.
