Louis Poulsen: FJ Elements by Finn Juhl
Louis Poulsen revives a rare lighting design by Finn Juhl – minimalist, functional, iconic. Available from autumn 2025.
In autumn 2025, Louis Poulsen will launch a rare lighting design by Danish architect Finn Juhl (1912–1989). Originally created in 1963, the lamp will be available as both a pendant and a table version, offered in three matte finishes: white, black, and Juhl’s original two-tone grey.
The name FJ Elements is inspired by Juhl’s hand-drawn sketches, which depict the lamp as a composition of distinct design elements. These drawings form the conceptual foundation of the collection and reflect the clear formal language and thoughtful construction that characterize Juhl’s work.
Crafted from aluminum and steel, the design combines geometric simplicity with functional sophistication. The upper shade can be rotated around the lower one, allowing for flexible light direction and a soft, glare-free glow. An additional opening at the top emits gentle upward light, creating a warm and atmospheric ambiance.
