Stylepark Selected Award 2023

Stylepark honours the best new products of the year with the Stylepark Selected Award 2023. These are the award winners.
12/11/2023

The Stylepark Selected Award has been presented to a wide range of innovations in the design and architecture sector since 2018: It recognises products and concepts that are forward-looking and offer a new approach – for architects, designers, journalists and design enthusiasts as well as for the company itself. The award thus offers a compact overview of current developments in the industry and serves as a guide.

Ambright
"Paris"
Design: Simon Busse

Jury statement:
With the "Paris" pendant light, Ambright marks its first collaboration with a designer and produces the product in series. The design translates the idea of SparkShapes and its trademark light edge as elegant, clear lines into the room. Filigree and softly reflecting surfaces create an interplay between exquisite room lighting and a design object that illuminates itself.

Arper
"Ralik"
Design: Ichiro Iwasaki

Jury statement:
The modular collection impresses with numerous elements that can be flexibly combined and link work and lounge. Whether bench or armchair, with or without backrest: the comfortable upholstered furniture is equipped with loading connections and can be extended with fixed or height-adjustable tables. Recycled materials have been used in the interests of the circular economy and the range can be completely dismantled and returned to the cycle. Bold colours round off Ichiro Iwasaki's design.

Arper
"Semiton"
Design: Cinzia Cumini + Vicente García Jiménez

Jury statement:
With "Semiton", Arper meets the demand for customised room solutions. The cabinet system is freely configurable, modules such as shelves or cabinets can be arranged with (seating) surfaces on an aluminium frame. The carcasses with wood veneer are available in many colours and form a stable and highly flexible system. The concealed cable management also provides an elegant solution, allowing the furniture to be used as a room divider.

AXOR
"AXOR Drain"

Jury statement:
With "AXOR Drain", the manufacturer offers a shower channel with a narrow, rectangular cover and no visible silicone joints. Available in the "AXOR FinishPlus" colours, it allows the fittings to be standardised and the channel to be visually integrated into the bathroom concept. Whether on the wall or free-standing in the room, the channel can be installed with different odour traps and positioned precisely thanks to the template.

Bora
"BORA X BO"

Jury statement:
The versatile professional steam oven impresses with automatic steam extraction, professional self-cleaning and simple operation. Its minimalist, high-quality design is complemented by a generous 19-inch display. Short videos make it easy to learn how to use the appliance. Thanks to its intuitive design, it is easy to choose between pre-programmed settings for numerous dishes and customised operation. Optimum cooking results are guaranteed by even heat distribution on all three levels.

Bonaldo
"Padiglioni"
Design: Alain Gilles

Jury statement:
The "Padiglioni" table is a piece of furniture that always presents itself in a new light. The three asymmetrically mounted and differently shaped legs support a conical, oval top. Depending on the angle of view, the ensemble constantly takes on new shapes. The table is available in either wood or clay or a combination of the two, with the option of a metal frame. A table as a playful take on the Bauhaus icon Barcelona Pavilion by Mies van der Rohe.

Brunner
"Oval"
Design: jehs+laub

Jury statement:
With "Oval", furniture manufacturer Brunner has developed a cosy lounge system for any type of foyer. With a frame made of round tubular steel, the elements appear almost floatingly light. As in a modular system, they can be combined as desired and required: communicative for many, focussed on small groups or isolated and concentrated with high or low panels. The rounded furniture succeeds in softening the often linear, large rooms with radial and curved lines and making them more natural.

Camira
"RePlay"

Jury statement:
Producing high-quality recycled fabrics is state of the art for Camira. With RePlay, the British company presents a flexible textile made entirely from recycled plastic bottles. The 33 colour shades are coordinated with a two-tone base colour, giving them a brilliant depth. Flexible to use, highly hard-wearing and visually dynamic, it impresses on all levels.

Cleaf
"Traccia"

Jury statement:
For "Traccia", Cleaf focusses on creative accents - whether for furniture or interior design. Surfaces can be (re)designed with the interesting structure. Roughened, protruding and smooth, receding planes alternate like narrow bands. This emphasises their technical aspects and creates a lively play of light. Produced in different thicknesses and colours – from intense shades to stone, textile and wood looks – it can be used in many different places.

Expormim
"Loop"
Design: Norm Architects

Jury statement:
"Loop" impresses with its craftsmanship and playful use of form. Norm Architects has succeeded in designing a chair that sets a charming new accent with echoes of classic multipurpose chairs. In the tradition of the Spanish family company Expormim, natural and durable materials are used: peeled rattan as bentwood forms the frame and is combined with Viennese wickerwork on the backrest. An upholstered seat in a variety of designs ensures comfort.

Flos
"My Circuit"
Design: Michael Anastassiades

Jury statement:
"My Circuit" is a lighting system whose flexible track can be bent and curved according to your wishes and space. The track made of matt white rubber has an 8-cut, in the waist of which the copper conductor runs. Four different light fittings from the range can be attached to it to fulfil any lighting requirements. The white of the track is reminiscent of stucco and becomes part of the room's architecture, both functionally and decoratively. With Michael Anastassiades' design, Flos thus presents a perfect synthesis of technology, performance and design.

Geberit
"CleanLine50"

Jury statement:
With the "CleanLine50", Geberit presents a shower channel that is just three centimetres wide and is available in 90 and 130 centimetre lengths. The trick of designing the channel with an asymmetrical triangular contour and integrated gradient means that the water drains away quickly. The open drainage surface allows less soiling. It offers a clear design that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing and is available in the colours brushed stainless steel and black chrome.

Hager
"Witty Share"

Jury statement:
As an intelligent charging station with load manager, "Witty Share" from Hager supports e-mobility and is suitable for apartment blocks, commercial properties and vehicle fleets. Installation and commissioning are intuitive and cables can be fed in from any direction.

Interface
"Past Forward"

Jury statement:
The "Past Forward" carpet tile collection from Interface is not only a functional and aesthetic homage to the design of past decades, but also offers a durable product made from recycled polyamide that can be used flexibly in everything from work surfaces to living rooms and hotel lobbies.

Kvadrat
"Sport"
Design: Patricia Urquiola

Jury statement:
The upholstery fabric "Sport" by Patricia Urquiola from Kvadrat is made in collaboration with #tide from 100 percent recycled ocean-bound polyester and, thanks to the unconventional weave with three different coloured yarns, offers a haptically and visually special expression. Twenty colours open up numerous possibilities for individual use.

Lodes
"Cono di Luce"
Design: Ron Arad

Jury statement:
With "Cono di Luce", Ron Arad has created a unique symbiosis of technology and art object for Lodes: By redefining the use of the flexible printed circuit board and enclosing it in a transparent Pyrex cone, he has created a unique pendant light that can be personalised with graphic motifs.

müller möbelfabrikation
"MATCH"

Jury statement:
The "MATCH" modular shelving system from müller möbelfabrikation can be used for storage, presentation or as a room divider thanks to its variable metal back panels. With no visible screw connections and available in many variants, it fits into any context and can be flexibly extended.

Pedrali
"Frank"
Design: Robin Rizzini

Jury statement:
The sculptural form of "Frank" by Robin Rizzini for Pedrali features two slightly inwardly curved bases that support a rectangular top. Despite the slender profiles, the table appears very stable. Thanks to the three possible dimensions and the versions in aluminium, glass or lacquered MDF, the character of "Frank" can also be impressively changed.

Sammode
"Paname Floor"
Design: Éloi Chafai und Jean-Francois Dingjian

Jury statement:
With the addition of three impressive floor lamps to the "Paname" collection, Éloi Chafai and Jean-Francois Dingjian from the Normal Studio agency have added a new perspective to the industrial aesthetics of tubular lamps: Inspired by Art Deco, the black metal structure that surrounds the luminaire like a frame displays elegant facets and provides a flat, dimmable light.

Paola Lenti
"Tricot"
Design: CRS

Jury statement:
For the "Tricot" carpet, Paola Lenti uses yarn remnants from her own production as well as strands of polyolefin, thus offering a unique colour scheme that can run in a straight line or in a spiral. The voluminous knitted fabric is very robust and offers the best conditions for a durable, recyclable floor covering.

Villeroy & Boch
"Antao"
Design: Kaschkasch

Jury statement:
With "Antao", Florian Kallus and Sebastian Schneider have designed the first holistic bathroom collection for Villeroy & Boch, which demonstrates a significant further development of the company. The elements of "Antao" have water-saving and smart functions – in addition, the furniture made of solid wood, stone and lacquer also fits into any other interior context.

Wagner Living
"W3D"
Design: Hadi Teherani

Jury statement: In cooperation with the Wagner Living team and the designer Thorsten Franck, the architect and designer Hadi Teherani has created the three-dimensionally movable active stool "W3D" for ergonomic seating: Using 3D printing, made from 100 per cent renewable raw materials that are biodegradable, its design is suitable for decentralised production. Parametrically constructed, the shape has an artistic fold that stretches inwards and outwards like a textile. From every perspective, "W3D" appears different, closed and open, robust and fragile.

Zeitraum
"Gema"
Design: Laura Gämmerler + Pedro Sottomayor

Jury statement:
For "Gema", Laura Gämmerler + Pedro Sottomayor have created a balanced combination of two contrasting materials for Zeitraum: The hand-blown white glass bodies of the pendant lights are half-enclosed by fine clay in natural colours. Despite their large volume, the luminaires thus appear restrained and lend the room a warm atmosphere.
