Year of design: 1925 | Design: Marcel Breuer

Formally, Marcel Breuer translated his design for B 9 to the long, elegant side table B 10. Cold-bent tubular steel enabled such a construction and provided the required stability. This principle was then translated to the chair design, resulting in the chair without back legs, the cantilever chair. Tubular steel furniture is considered a milestone in history. From the beginning, Thonet was the partner for the designers and a manufacturer with a global distribution network.

Kim Colin and Sam Hecht from the Industrial Facility design studio have translated the formal and material heritage into the present for Thonet: "S 220" is the name of their shaped wooden chair, whose lines are inspired by the classic "214" bentwood chair.
